Our experience has shown that requesting your own
staff conduct stocktakes is not a cost effective use of their time or
your money. A more effective way to approaching stocktakes is by using
a professional organisation, such as SSV, to conduct these for you.
During
the count, stock is broken down into as many different commodities as
the client may require, ensuring that the breakdowns are in line with
the client's till departments.
The stock is first calculated at retail and then a
set discount is applied, taking into account variances between departments,
to revert the retail stock figure to a realistic cost figure.
This system gives the necessary accuracy as required
by the standard yearly or interim audits and all auditors that have
been present with us on stock valuations have always agreed and approved
by the system and the accuracy.
